Here's the scoop: Last year, when we built our hay fund, we planned for four 'animals in need' spots. We didnāt know who they would be yet, but we knew they would come.
Because our donors showed up and ensured the hay was here, we were able to say yes when Josie and Bob needed us.
- Josie, approximately eleven years old, has constricted tendons in her front legs and was severely underweight upon arrival due to neglected care.
- Bob, around ten years old, is missing the bottom portion of his left back leg and was trapped in a full-body mat of wool, causing significant discomfort.
And it didnāt stop thereābecause our hay fund was secured before we knew who we'd be helping, we were also able to commit to two more sheep who will be joining us later this spring. Their placement at the sanctuary is already in the works, and without this pre-planning, we wouldnāt have been able to say yes.
Bob and Josie didnāt know it at the time, but there was already a community of people getting ready to make sure they got the care they needed.
Thatās why this hay fund matters. This year, weāve included two 'animals in need' spots in our hay fund once again. We donāt know their names yet, but just like last year, we know they will comeāand when they do, weāll be ready.
If we cover the hay fund this year, I wonder who will be rescued in 2026? Let's find out together by getting the hay fund covered.
