Many companies in Canada reward their employees and retirees for supporting charities like Lily’s Place Animal Sanctuary — simply by donating, volunteering, or doing both.

Here's how it works:

Many employers in Canada offer employee giving programs through platforms like Benevity or internal portals.

These programs may include:

  • Donation matching: Your employer matches your personal donation, often dollar-for-dollar.

  • Volunteer grants: Your time is turned into money. For example, if you volunteer 40 hours in a year, the company might donate $500 to Lily’s Place in your name.

  • Team volunteer rewards: Some companies give extra grants when multiple employees volunteer together.

  • Retiree eligibility: Some companies extend these benefits to retirees — even surviving spouses in some cases.

The cost of providing compassionate, life-long care (often a decade or more) to animals who wouldn’t otherwise have a home is more than most individuals can manage on their own. Sponsorships provide a way for each of us to contribute to the care of the animals at the sanctuary in a sustainable way. 

It's also worth noting that animal rescues that focus on farmed animals are the most underfunded organizations out of all animal causes, according to research done by faunalytics (source). So, if you love to support the underdog,  donate to your local farm animal sanctuary.

Donate a Car Canada accepts Vehicle Donations for Lily's Place Animal Sanctuary. Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to Lily's Place Animal Sanctuary through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auction (depending on its condition, age and location).

When you bring your recyclables ♻️ to Norrad's Trucking Express & Redemption Centre Ltd (40 Albert St, Sussex, NB), you can now donate your refund to Lily's Place Animal Sanctuary! The best way to support the sanctuary and provide long-term stability to Lily's Place is to become a monthly sponsor. On average, it takes 3 monthly supporters to cover the care of one resident for one month. That means, while few of us can make any grand gestures of the monetary variety, together, as a community of caring people, we can band together and ensure safe refuge for animals in need exists! By leaving a gift in your Will, you'll have a profound impact on helping to ensure safe refuge exists for farmed animals in need and help us create a world where the lives of farmed animals are cherished and free from harm.

Your legacy will help us work towards a time when farmed animals are able to grow old with dignity, experience enriched lives worth living, and are free from cruelty and suffering.  When you talk to your adviser about leaving a gift in your will, possibly wording and information they may ask for include:
