When farm animals face neglect or abandonment, who can help them?

The Kindness Club Foundation Inc – Vision of Mrs. Aida Flemming was established in 1959, and our “Safe Haven Shelter Expansion” project, which just got funded by the Kindness Club, embodies Aida’s vision when she said,
“We have done so much, but there is so much more to do.”
This is a major step toward creating the infrastructure we’ve needed for years, and it lays the foundation for even more happy “tails” and soft landings.
I’m so excited to share that the Kindness Club Foundation has awarded us a grant to help cover the cost of building a new two-stall intake and quarantine shelter. In fact, this is a big grant as it covers almost 80% of the quoted building cost! 🤩
The two-stall building is a key part of our long-term plan to safely manage urgent intakes and future growth, which is why the project is called “Safe Haven Shelter Expansion.”
The plan started with the new pasture fencing installed this summer, thanks to a grant from the Eric S. Margolis Foundation and the hard work of Gateway Fencing, creating a 4-acre space with strong, permanent fencing.
Now the plan is moving forward with a dedicated structure within the new pasture for quarantine and urgent intake of animals too large for our forest house.
We’re deeply grateful to the Kindness Club Foundation for believing in this project and recognizing the need for shelter, rescue and housing of displaced farm animals in our region.
More updates to come as we move into the next phase of making this shelter a reality in the new year. 💚
