New rescues arrived today! Gabby and Will Feral kitties who needed a forever home before winter sets arrived fromMy 3 Sons (a feral cat rescue) yesterday. They arenât keen on people and it will take time for them to settle in, decompress, and understand that they are safe. Weâll post more as we get to know them.

The female kitty now has a name: Gabby!
The kitties are settling in, so itâs time for a little introduction! The male kitty is 100% feral. Robyn called him âWill Feralâ this morning, which couldnât be more perfect for him đș.
Will is eating and using the litter box but is understandably hiding. Tim hadnât even seen him until tonight! Feral cats like Will are independent, outdoor cats who arenât used to human interaction. Unlike strays, feral cats have had little, if any, socialization with people and would prefer not to be near humans. However, when left to their own devices, feral cats lead a hard (often short) life âthey face risks like illness, lack of food, and exposure to harsh winters.
To get Will and the female kitty accustomed to life here, they must be confined in their safe area for a few weeks, so they stick around and donât wander off and put themselves at risk. This adjustment period helps them recognize the barn as their home, where theyâll have consistent food, shelter, and care.
The female kitty currently has the nickname âchatty Cathy,â but weâre waiting to settle on a name for her. Sheâs not feral like Will, but My 3 Sons Cat Rescue thought sheâd be a good fit here. Sheâs stolen the hearts of the volunteers who have met her, so Iâd say the cat rescue was spot on in their assessment of her đ».
