🎄 Calling all Sanctuary Santa's and Helpful Elves to the Holiday Hub!

It’s about bringing clarity, stability, and strategy to an organization that’s doing vital work on limited capacity. You’ll be working alongside a values-driven team who’s already doing everything they can, and you won’t be stepping on toes. You’ll be lifting pressure, offering fresh perspective, and helping us build what comes next.

This isn’t about daily chores or onsite help.

Lily’s Place Animal Sanctuary provides lifelong care to over 40 rescued farmed animals—many with medical, mobility, or trauma-related challenges. Thanks to a small and deeply committed team of volunteers, the animals are thriving.

But behind the scenes, like many grassroots sanctuaries, we’ve grown faster than our internal systems can keep up with. To continue offering the level of care these animals deserve, we’re expanding our circle of support.

We’re forming a Strategic Volunteer Team—a small group of professionals ready to apply their skills in fundraising, organizational development, and nonprofit leadership to help us build a more sustainable foundation.

Strategic Volunteer Team

now forming:

We’re inviting you to help us refine the priorities, identify what's most urgent, and take the lead on moving pieces forward.

Our biggest growing edges right now are:

  • Stable funding (grants, mid-level donor development, business sponsorships, recurring giving)
  • Sustainable staffing models (how to retain care capacity over time)
  • Stronger governance structures (to share responsibility and support leadership transitions)

What We Know We Need

But we’re not asking you to follow a checklist.

  • You’re experienced in nonprofit fundraising, development, donor engagement, operations, or governance.
  • You’re a steady, systems-minded person who understands the reality of grassroots organizations.
  • You want your contribution to matter—but you don’t need credit or control.
  • You have 2–4 hours/month to offer, and you’re able to self-lead within a team setting.
  • You’re energized by the idea of protecting something vulnerable, valuable, and worth sustaining.

Who You Are:

Note: We are not currently seeking HR support—this area is covered.

  • You’ll collaborate with 3–5 other professionals in a flexible, remote working group.
  • You’ll use your expertise to propose solutions, map options, and move a piece of the puzzle forward.
  • You’ll help shape a future where the people caring for animals have the structure and support they need to continue.

What This Looks Like:

We’re forming the team over the summer, with our first meetings happening fall 2025.
