When farm animals face neglect or abandonment, who can help them?
Be The Reason
hello@lilysplace.ca
Wonder Woman of Lily’s Place, Nancy, lived a short life that started on a small-scale farm, where she broke her leg.
Despite the seriousness of her injury, she received no medical treatment, which resulted in the lower part of her limb eventually dying and falling off.
She was then passed off to a hobby farm, where she experienced more neglect, pain, and suffering. Against the odds, she found her way to safety, thanks to the dedication of Cedar Row Farm Sanctuary, where she received care and a prosthetic leg.
Nancy then travelled to Lily’s Place to live out her days. She spent most of her time being a patient friend to Rosie. She was also free to chum around with the big sheep when she wanted (her favourite was Sid).
Despite the circumstances before she was rescued and the immense care she required after, her spirit was never broken. Nancy gave this world so much more than it ever gave her, and she even ended up on TV a few times!
Nancy’s legacy reminds us that, in a world full of suffering, love and care are the greatest gifts we can offer.
