Elsa wandered into someone’s yard and hung around for a few days under their hot tub! They fed her and gave her straw to sleep in, but knew she was vulnerable to predators and the cold.
Tim and I went out to pick her up, but first we had to catch her. If any of the neighbours were watching, I’m sure they got quite a show with Tim, me, and Elsa running around and diving in the snow!
Speaking of snow, can you guess how Elsa got her name ?
Elsa is now at the sanctuary, warming up and decompressing. She has a bit of frostbite on her comb. She also has several feathers broken at the base, and she’s really skinny.
When she got here, she had a big drink, looked around, and promptly climbed up on the roosting bar in her enclosure. She’s fast asleep there now, and we’ll start her intake process tomorrow.
Welcome to the sanctuary life, Elsa!
