When farm animals face neglect or abandonment, who can take them?
Be The Reason

Beatrice is a kind soul who’s been through more than any animal should ever have to go through. She was seized alongside Merlin, Mel, and Kate in a heartbreaking cruelty case. The accused faces charges under both the SPCA Act and the Criminal Code of Canada for failing to provide food, water, shelter, or care.
Bea’s day in court is coming this November. But right now, she’s facing a different kind of battle, one for her health.
🐾 Her Injury: Bea has had a hernia on her side since arriving in our care. It was manageable at first, but in August it began to worsen. With the help of the Sussex vet office, we tried everything to encourage it back into place — including wrapping her body to hold the tissue in. But it’s not enough.
🏥 Her Surgery: Bea is scheduled for surgery in November at AVC to repair the hernia. The procedure involves pushing the bulging tissue back into place and stitching the weakened area. In more severe cases, a mesh is needed to reinforce the repair (it’s also double the cost) — and Bea is likely to need this second option.
💚 How You Can Help: This surgery is essential for Bea’s comfort, safety, and future. We’re raising funds to cover her pricey medical costs and give her the healing she deserves. We estimate needing approximately $2000 to cover the surgery.
Every donation helps us move one step closer to allowing Bea to leave her past in the past.
