ROCKSTAR ROBYN!
Please join me in recognizing the unwavering commitment and support Robyn has shown the animals (and humans!) of Lily’s Place!
A few years ago, Robyn came out for a group volunteer day and has been with us ever since! Recently, she received 3 awards for her dedication:
The Donor Commitment Award for a long-standing monthly sponsorship.
The Volunteer Commitment Award for donating more than 200 hours of her time.
The Major Milestone Award, which recognizes individuals for a significant level of support. In Robyn’s case, that’s over 625 volunteer hours (the equivalent of donating more than $10k in labour!).
To list all the ways Robyn has helped, all the special days she made happen, and all the times she’s been there when the sanctuary (and the founders!) were in crisis is more than this post could fit, but I do want to point out a few key moments for the sanctuary, including:
Coordinating all the volunteers, the setup, and about a million other things needed to ensure everything ran smoothly during our 2024 open house, when we welcomed over 100 people to the sanctuary.
During our 2025, Robyn ensured Lily’s Place could be out in the community, raising awareness so we can help more animals, including coordinating volunteers to attend events throughout the year, including events hosted by Fredericton Women’s Show, The Gathering Market, MART – Maritime Animal Response Team, Oromocto and Area SPCA, Fredericton SPCA and Dog Earred Books.
This year, Robyn coordinated our participation in the Life at the Lakes Festival. This was the first year we’ve been a part of the festival, and Robyn coordinated it all, from becoming a festival spot to gathering a rockstar team of volunteers to wrapping up the day seamlessly.
Every year, and often multiple times a week, Robyn has picked up supplies, trained new volunteers, and installed fence posts, taken on infrastructure challenges (and found solutions), cleaned out shelters, stacked hay, prepared holiday cards, run a successful fundraiser, sewn up socks, shoes, and all sorts of creations for residents like Rosie who needed custom-fitted pads and joint covers.
The friendly faces in the photos are rockstar volunteers who regularly help out at the sanctuary and work alongside Robyn, including Patty, Lindsay, Joe, Wayne, and Erik.
On a personal note, Robyn has been there whenever I’ve needed a shoulder to cry on, a friend to rescue the team when a vehicle has broken down (along with handy Erik to get us back on the road!), and a confidante to laugh with no matter how sideways the day goes.
Thank you for all you do, Robyn!!!
