Edith was brought to the sanctuary almost two weeks ago for a better life. The owner’s words were, “I’m not going to slaughter her; she deserves better.”
She didn’t have a name, so we chose Edith.
Edith was attacked at her previous home by other birds living there. She survived but is missing a significant number of feathers on her back and has a large wound that’s in the process of healing.
There seems to be a lot of scar tissue around the wound. We were told that each time she was reintroduced to the other birds, she was attacked again.
Edith is currently in quarantine, healing, and settling in.
