Edith was brought to the sanctuary almost two weeks ago for a better life. The owner’s words were, “I’m not going to slaughter her; she deserves better.” ⁣⁣

She didn’t have a name, so we chose Edith.⁣⁣

Edith was attacked at her previous home by other birds living there. She survived but is missing a significant number of feathers on her back and has a large wound that’s in the process of healing. ⁣⁣

There seems to be a lot of scar tissue around the wound. We were told that each time she was reintroduced to the other birds, she was attacked again. ⁣⁣

Edith is currently in quarantine, healing, and settling in.
