When farm animals face neglect or abandonment, who can help them?
Be The Reason

Don’t let that sly look from Klaus fool you! He’s super happy to be back at the sanctuary and with his best buddy, Ellie.
However, it’s going to take some time to regain his trust after what he’s been through this Thursday. Right now, if more than one person enters his stall, he tucks his tail and starts shaking in fear about what we might be up to. And unfortunately for Klaus, for the last few days, more often than not, his distress is warranted because we’ve been in there to give him a needle of either antibiotics or pain medication.
In the evenings, Klaus is starting to come around. When it’s just me entering his stall, as I’m always bringing a treat at that hour. He’s still skittish, and I imagine he will be for some time, as he hadn’t been here long enough to get to know us before we started poking him with needles. It’s sad to see him so nervous.
Hopefully, Ellie, who’s been much braver (though she hasn’t been through what Klaus has), will reassure Klaus that this is a safe place as she gets more comfortable with us, too.
