When farm animals face neglect or abandonment, who can help them?
Be The Reason
It’s time to officially introduce you to Moose! ![]()

Moose arrived just before the holidays along with Claire, Rory, and Charlie. We affectionately call this bonded family “The Bluenosers” because they are from NS.
Moose quickly earned her name based on her appearance, and it suits her well so far. She’s shy, seriously cute, likes to stay hidden, and quietly goes about her business.
Poor Moose needed some extra medical attention because she was dribbling urine down her backside, causing urine scald. This required us to buzz off the wool on the upper backs of her legs and her tail to help her feel more comfortable.
Moose received a series of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory injections, along with medicated skin gels, for about a week.
Each rescue has stories we’ll never fully know, and while treating Moose’s tail for scald, I noticed it had been broken before. We’ll never find out what happened to her tail, but the scald has healed, leaving some bald patches on her tail.
So far, the suspected UTI causing the dribbling hasn’t returned, which must be such a relief for Moose. That must have been terribly painful for her, and I hope it didn’t cause internal damage before it cleared up.
For now, Moose is doing really well, and I’m looking forward to seeing her personality start to shine as she begins to truly feel safe here.
Moose is looking for a monthly sponsor ![]()
