Annie has been understandably resting a lot the past couple of days. She was up and hanging out with Sid this morning; however, she made a couple of vocalizations that alerted Robyn and me to the fact that something was definitely off.
Annie’s pain levels were high (curling her lips and clenching her jaw), her abdomen was lurching without her cud coming up, and she was glassy-eyed. We treated her with a bloat medication and called the vet. Annie got her cud up before the vet arrived, and after a vet exam, Annie’s pain meds were increased. There’s also concern that she may be backed up.
We’ll see how she does on the new med protocol, adjust her food tonight, and watch to see if she passes any manure.
