Big news for our sweet goose, Freddy—she just secured her second monthly sponsor! 🥳
A huge thank you to Krista Shea Reiki for joining Freddy’s Monthly Care Crew and helping cover her ongoing care!
Freddy arrived at the sanctuary after wandering near a busy highway off-ramp in Fredericton for some time.
With nobody claiming her and the cars whizzing by, she needed a safe place to go! Krista reached out after hearing from Tammy (hi, Tammy 👋😁!), who was on the scene.
After a brief message exchange and phone call to confirm that Freddy was a domestic goose, we headed out to Fredericton to see if we could help!
Fast forward to today, and Freddy is happy and healthy at the sanctuary! After her quarantine period, she quickly befriended the little flock of ducks here. Annabelle, who normally is a “one-person duck” and moves in the slow lane, was quickly smitten with Freddy as they go at the same speed!
Gladys, who’s curious but cautious, is often found near Freddy, who towers over all the other ducks, especially Daisy and Milo, who are barely "one dandelion tall."
(pst.. “One dandelion tall” became a measurement here after Daisy was spotted standing next to a dandelion that was as tall as her lol).
Freddy uses her extra height to keep watch and lets out a honk whenever her shorter pals need a heads-up! Gladys has taken to sleeping right next to Freddy in the grass during the day, as she knows Freddy’s on guard!
